Who We Are
Safe Kids Henderson-Vance is a organization dedicated to the
prevention of unintentional childhood injury. More children under 14
years old die from accidents such as motor vehicle crashes, drowning,
fires, poisoning and falls than any other cause. Many of these injuries
happen during a lapse in supervision or because a safety device wasn't
used. It's estimated that by taking these and other simple precautions
almost all (90%) of these unintentional injuries can be avoided.
What We Do
Safe Kids Henderson-Vance promotes changes in attitudes, behaviors,
laws and the environment to prevent accidental injury to children. Every
year we hold child passenger safety seat check points and hold a safe
kids day. We also hold public education courses and participate in the
Henderson-Vance Night Out Against Crime and fire prevention week. |
How We Do It
Safe Kids Henderson-Vance depends on the support of many
volunteers from different agencies and businesses. Law
enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, educators, health
and safety experts, parents, and businesses are just a few of the
experts that help tailor and implement public education programs and
child passenger safety seat check points.
